I bolded the books I've read. Of them I feel that #60 was a total waste of time. Anyone who's been nickeled and dimed to death as we were for the first decade of our marriage hates the condescending tone of the author toward her subjects. (This was the least popular Freshman Experience book among students). I also didn't like #96 at all but at least it had breakneck pacing.
If getting you straight in the heart has anything to do with it, Owen Meany needs to be sent up to the top 5 with a bullet, as does Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried. How in the world was #34 ahead of OWEN MEANY!!!!?????!!!!!!

This list made no sense to me at all. How did The Road come in at number one? Yes, it's an excellent book, but the best book of the last 25 years? Hell to the no.
I agree, Collin, and I think this isn't supposed to be a list of the best books of the last 25 years, but of the best reads (books you most enjoyed). In either case, it's what I call a "cake full up"
arrangement. (That's an anagram for all fucked up).
Sorry--should be a "caked full up" arrangement.
