I write my stories and poems first in pen and ink. My habits predate personal computers, and since I use a computer all day long at work, I don't like it carrying over to my craft.
And writing is a craft, and it has tools, and pen and ink are the traditional ones for writing. (I never wrote on a typewriter first, either).
With the aforesaid disclaimer, I have written my last two poems directly on the computer and I like the heck out of the drafts. So maybe I should play more.
